Information

The Association of Directors of Environment, Economy, Planning and Transport (ADEPT) represents place directors from county, unitary and combined authorities, along with Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and corporate partners drawn from key service sectors. ADEPT members are at the very heart of maximising sustainable growth in communities throughout the UK. We are delivering the projects that are key to unlocking broader economic success and creating more resilient communities, economies and infrastructure.

ADEPT is a membership based, voluntary organisation with 85+ county, unitary and combined authority members, 3 sub-national transport bodies, 12 local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) and 20 Corporate Partner members across England. We represent members' interests by proactively engaging central government on emerging policy and issues, responding to consultations and enquiries, and promoting initiatives aimed at influencing government policy. We also represent public sector interests across all our key areas.

ADEPT’s remit
ADEPT members manage some of the most pressing issues facing the UK today. Our remit includes:

  • sustainable growth
  • infrastructure including local highways and digital connectivity
  • planning & housing
  • environment including waste, flood & water management, energy, natural capital, climate change

ADEPT members have a key role in supporting and delivering sustainable growth and improved quality of life.
