Green Recovery
Information
The measures taken to control the COVID-19 pandemic have taken traffic
off our streets and workers from our town centres. We have seen reduced food
waste, increases in cycling, improving air quality and the renaissance of the
staycation. Now we need to rebuild our local economies. Some of the changes we
have seen look like becoming more permanent and we need to ensure that our
plans for economic recovery are green and take these changes into account.
Discussion to cover:
- to what extent can a local authority influence the nature of the recovery in
its area? - which measures are key to success?
- what are the barriers and how can they be overcome?
