Wigan MBCMel Mulchay was the programme lead in a back office role to deliver an international tournament in the town of Leigh bringing joy to thousands of people of all ages and a magical summer for the whole borough. Over three years Mel worked tirelessly on planning for the tournament going above and beyond to make sure the event was unforgettable. This included fan marches with thousands of international visitors, a hugely popular fanzone and a legacy programme which has boosted the numbers of girls playing the game. It is definitely an achievement Mel should be proud of.
