Thanet DCIn 2022, Thanet DC introduced a new online waste and recycling portal. This followed months of work behind the scenes. Moving to an automated system and in-cab information screens has transformed service delivery. Collections are at 99.9%, calls to customer services are down and reported missed bins have dropped by 70%. The system was also applied to the paid-for garden waste service. Manually updating the subscriber database, previously a nine month rolling process, has been replaced by customer led signups. Automated enrollment has seen the service grow with paid subscriptions up by 25% on the previous year.
