Enfield LBCMost people with learning disabilities (PWLD) have speech, language and communication needs; often these difficulties are hidden or overlooked. It is estimated that between 50% and 90% of PWLD have communication difficulties. Health and adult social care services have a legal duty to provide reasonable adjustments for people with information and communication support needs The Enfield integrated learning disability service has developed an assessable information project to create information that can better meet the needs of PWLD producing assessible information that is produces a greater sense of independence, inclusion and enhanced emotional wellbeing.
