Climate risk: tackling the stewardship, governance, measurement and reporting challenges

There is considerable focus on responsible investment across the LGPS.  Without effective reporting and governance is it all just greenwashing. But reporting and governance is a minefield across the board with numerous requirements on the management and disclosure of climate-related risks including reporting to the Task Force on Financial Disclosures (TCFD). Unpicking what is mandatory and what is guidance. What is required from schemes – and from the asset managers and pool companies. Collective, three-fold challenge – engage companies that want to transition, where do we de-carbonise, how do we report back to the members that things are being done.
