A WELCOME FROM LGC DEPUTY EDITOR, MARTIN GEORGE:

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you back to Leeds for the LGC Investment & Pensions Summit.

When we gathered last year, we hoped we were coming out of the pandemic and there was a feel of optimism – not just because we were finally able to meet in person, but about the wider future too.

The pandemic still had some bumps in store for us – I didn’t hear the word ‘omicron’ mentioned this time last year – but a war in Europe and double-digit inflation are among the other unexpected to the challenges facing the LGPS.

There is certainly much to discuss, and I am sure that through the excellent speakers on our formal programme and the networking that will take place at the margins we will all come away with much to think about and talk about with colleagues.

So I would like to thank our sponsors, speakers, moderators, staff and delegates for what I am sure will be a hugely rewarding time together.
